Kristle knows the way to my heart is a phone call. We talk on the phone multiple times a day, every day – this is not an exaggeration. Eating breakfast with my toddler and getting a call from, Kristle on her way home from daycare drop off is our Monday to Friday ritual, but the morning she called and told me a new baby was on the way was anything but ritual. We both cried and laughed and joked about all the real-life things everyone else likes to pretend aren’t so real.
Months have passed and the baby who we now know is a baby girl (I will leave her name until we have a sweet face to accompany it) is almost here! Watching my best friend grow not only her second baby but her baby girl has filled my heart with unmeasurable amounts of joy. I can’t wait to capture all the special moments this beautiful family has to come.
Kristle and her husband Ian, along with their adorable three-year-old Joe spent days planning outfits and discussing these maturity photos – and what I mean by that is Kristle did all the worrying and planning and told her boys they had no choice but to show up and smile! Reluctantly both Ian and Joe showed up in the living room and lucky for them they gave this beautiful mama the family photos she was hoping for. These special last moments as a family of three will be cherished forever and life without a baby girl will soon be unimaginable.
Auntie D can’t wait to meet you baby Jensen! Maybe you will surprise us all and come on my birthday – I won’t be upset to have to share my birthday with the sweetest little Jensen.
